On today’s show, we will be checking in again with Matt Danielson. Matt’s the director of Spokane Pride.
This weekend is the Pride Festival in Spokane. It’s an event that brings tens of thousands of kind and decent people to Downtown Spokane and Riverfront Park. It’s fun. It’s free. Just being there with a multitude of honorable people will make you feel good, whether you are LGBTQ or not. It is family-friendly and a powerful respite from the continual onslaught of Fascism, lies and violence spewing from the immoral crime family and cult running our nation right now.
This year, KYRS will once again be broadcasting from the start of the parade. We (Creative Mindset’s Robert Sevilla and I) will be playing happy music and announcing the participants as they walk, skate, skip, gallop, ride, swim or drive by. The parade starts at noon and the rest of the day is filled with fun programing. The weather is supposed to be really nice. If you can’t be there, you can listen to the parade on KYRS starting at noon and hear the fun.
The event kicks off at 3 pm in Riverfront Park on Friday with a rally for trans rights. Matt and I will be giving you the lowdown on all the activities that will be taking place this weekend.
I will also be telling you (as usual) when and where all the pro-democracy demonstrations will be taking place this week.
Thank you to my underwriters - Boots Bakery and Eastern Washington University.
Out and About airs every Tuesday at 4 pm on KYRS at 88.1 and 92.3 fm. Also streaming at KYRS.org. Thanks for listening! Maeve
