Yesterday's Out and About - Talking No Kings Protest - this Saturday! October 18, 1-4 pm BA Clark Park

Yesterday, I was not in the studio, but had prepared a recording. I gave details about the upcoming No Kings protest on October 18th - 1-4pm at BA Clark Park. I had prepared some speech items for the protest, as I had been invited to speak, but was later told that they didn’t need me. So, I used that preparation as talking points for the show and I also played music to get listeners in the mood to assert their first amendment rights this Saturday.

I did get picked up to speak at the protest, so I am preparing some new material right now. See you there!

If you missed the show, here is a link. For some reason, the recording starts about five minutes into the broadcast.   https://archive.kyrs.org/mp3/kyrs_251014_160000b.mp3

Today's Out and About - The upcoming No Kings Rally - October 18 - 1-4pm BA Clark Park

Due to an illness in my family, I won't be in the studio. However, I have a show that I prerecorded especially for today. I was slated to speak at the upcoming No Kings protest but then the organizers told me that they already had a full schedule of speakers and wouldn't need me. I had already prepared for what I was going to say so I took the points of that speech and made them into this radio show, along with information on the No Kings protest. I also threw in some songs I hope you like, just to get you in the mood.

Yesterday, I found out I was back on for speaking at the protest, so I am going to come up with something new for that!

Yesterday's Out and About

Yesterday I talked with Leslie Ann Grove and Laurel Newnham from the Northwest Mediation Center. October is Conflict Resolution Month which made it a great time to hear from people who resolve conflicts for a living.

We talked about how meditation worked and what were some things that the Northwest Mediation Center has helped people come to agree upon. I learned a lot.

One of things I didn’t know about was their Restorative Circles.

Do you have what it takes to be a mediator or mediator ambassador? Doing this kind of work is really needed in our current political and social upheaval. If you missed the show, you can listen to it here - https://archive.kyrs.org/mp3/kyrs_251007_160000b.mp3

Out and About - Yesterday's show...

Yesterday I talked with my friend Jenny Seibert. As the United States sinks deeper into Fascism, disease and pending economic collapse, we talked about how do you decide when it is the right time to flee the country. Like many other groups: farmers, police officers, veterans, union members, the elderly, service members, small business owners, and immigrants - transgender people are definitely under attack by this anti-democratic, pro-fascist administration. Trans people are the canaries in the coal mine for those who will not join the anti-Christ Trump death cult. Is it better to stay, resist peacefully and make them do the awful things they say they are going to do to us to show the world what a danger this administration is to everyone in the United States and on the planet, or to flee and live another day?

Today on Out and About - Jenny Seibert. Go? No go?

Today on Out and About, I will be talking with my friend Jenny Seibert. As the United States sinks deeper into Fascism, disease and pending economic collapse, we will be talking about how does one decide when it is the right time to flee the country.

Jenny and I have served our country in different capacities. I consider myself a patriotic citizen and leaving our nation would not be a knee-jerk response or an emotional impulse. It would take a lot for me to seek asylum in another nation. I would rather the Fascists leave and, in their absence, let America fulfill its promise of freedom and justice for all. However, there may come a time when I will have no choice.

President Trump recently said that he would like to classify transgender people as “violent extremists.” The architects of his agenda, the Heritage Foundation, would like trans people to be labeled “terrorists.” As trans women, Jenny and I are definitely the canaries in the coal mine for those who will not join the anti-Christ Trump death cult. I expect this will be a spirited conversation.
