Yesterday's Out and About - Lily Booth and the South Perry Street Fair...

Yesterday on Out and About, I talked with Lily Booth. Lily is the president of South Perry Together. This group is putting on the Perry Street Fair - September 26. It sounds like a great event and I will be walking over there to spend the day, for sure. Lots of food, music and fun. What I am really excited about is a walking history tour of the neighborhood that they are unveiling at the event. I am a total nerd about these kind of things and poor Lily had to listen to me free associate and scat my way through a psychotropic local history screed. But, don’t let that deter you from listening to this show if you missed the live broadcast. Here’s a link.

How would you like a free t-shirt and some free drink coupons for the event (3 beer gardens)? All you have to do is volunteer to help out for a couple of hours. Here is where you can sign up

As always, thank you to my underwriter - Eastern Washington University.

Tune into Out and About every Tuesday at 4 pm on KYRS at 88.1 and 92.3 fm. Also streaming at KYRS.org. Thanks for listening! Maeve

Today's Out and About - The South Perry Street Fair!

Today on Out and About, I have Lily Booth on the air to talk with me about the South Perry Street Fair. Lily is the president of South Perry Together. The fair takes place on September 26 and is jam-packed with entertainment, activities and fun. South Perry is truly a jewel of a neighborhood. How did it get that way? How is it that it just keeps getting better? Looking forward to talking with Lily!

Testerday's Out and About - Mad Underground at Stage Left Theater - September 11 - 27!

Yesterday on Out and About, I talked with Director Preston Loomer and Playwright Sandra Hosking from the Stage Left Theater production of Mad Underground. These two are both multipotentialites. If you’re a longtime listener of the show, you will know how much I like to  talk to artists who don't specialize in one field but work in different arenas - artists who write, act, paint, sculpt, etc., in order to get their message out. Accordingly, I not only had a lot of questions about Mad Underground, but also about Sandra's and Preston’s creative practices.

Mad Underground
sounds like a great show and you can get tickets here. If you missed this episode of Out and About, here’s a link to the archived show.

Today's Out and About - Director Preston Loomer and Playwright Sandra Hosking - Stage Left Theater's production of Mad Underground

It has been so long since I have talked to anyone from Stage Left Theater! So, I am really looking forward to talking with folks from Stage Left’s newest production which opens on September 11. The show is called Mad Underground. I will have both the playwright Sandra Hosking and the director Preston Loomer on board this afternoon to talk about this show. Mad Underground sounds like a play that will hit that sweet spot for me - a little spooky, very funny and thought-provoking. These are the type of shows, in my opinion, that Stage Left Theater does best! And as an added bonus, this show will benefit Spokane’s Odyssey Youth Movement - a charity which helps out young LGBTQ folks in our region.
