Today's Out and About. LGBT people, canaries in the coal mine...
Today on Out and About, No guest! Instead I'm going to be talking about all the latest Trump/Krasnov assaults on LGBT folks. Even if you don't know or care about LGBT people, it's becoming pretty obvious that everyone should be concerned about the assaults on them from these Russian operatives. This destructive force of evil isn't going to be satisfied destroying LGBT people, but will continue their traitorous bloodlust to destroy our nation (and you). Plus, I will be playing some fun music. Why? Because fighting fascists and standing up for Democracy and freedom should always be fun!
Out and About airs every Tuesday at 4 pm on KYRS - 88.1 and 92.3 fm. You can also stream it from kyrs.org, where you can also find archives. Show notes and playlist at https://kyrs.org/show/out-and-about/ Thanks for listening! Maeve

What fun to be twenty-one!
But those days are done.

Hateful acts from Nazi twats
Makes me the hero!

Yesterday's Out and About - Little Red Riding Hood (and the Power Mutants)...
Yesterday I talked with director Rebecca Craven and castmembers from Little red Riding Hood (and the Power Mutants). It was a fun conversation and a delight to talk with these young actors and hear their talents!
My friend Rebecca is also an instructor at SFCC. And we discussed why theater is such a good thing for students to explore!
This sounds like a play that will be fun for the whole family. It opens, at the Spartan Theatre, February 28th and runs until March 2nd. If you missed the broadcast, here is a link: https://archive.kyrs.org/mp3/kyrs_250225_160000b.mp3

Yesterday's Show!
On yesterday’s show I had Troy Nickerson, Chris Jensen and Doug Dawson in the studio talking about Theater On The Verge’s premiere play “Every Brilliant Thing,” running February 27 through March 15. This production sounds great and I am really looking forward to seeing the show. We also talked about how art can help us cope with the unfortunate state of affairs we find our nation in and what it takes to launch a new theater company in Spokane.
You can get tickets to Every Brilliant Thing here https://www.theaterontheverge.com. If you missed yesterday’s show, here’s a link: https://archive.kyrs.org/mp3/kyrs_250211_160000b.mp3.
