Yesterday's Out and About - Spokane Pride Executive Director Matt Danielson

Yesterday, I talked with Spokane Pride Executive Director Matt Danielson. The Pride Festival is coming up! It’s now a two day celebration. There are plenty of events on Friday, June 12 and the usual big events on Saturday, June 13 which have attracted tens of thousands of people to downtown Spokane every year.

Matt and I spent some time talking about why the Pride Festival is for everyone. It’s a celebration of community for all kind and honorable people. It’s family-friendly too.

With our nation being plunged into fascism and the reluctance of legacy media to acknowledge the state we are in, it can be crazy-making. It can cause anxiety and loss of hope. That is exactly what the regime/cult wants you to feel. The Pride Festival is an antidote for that.

Having fun with thousands of other people who value community, kindness, honor, truth and intelligence will make you feel good - no matter who you are - straight, gay, cis or trans. Maybe this is why so many mainline churches, temples and synagogues have participated in Pride each year.
