He was awakened at 11 pm by such a clatter, he sprung from the bed to see what was the matter. And what to his wondering eyes did he see, but the snowman at the end of a long tether - as safe as can be.
Knowing next time they'll be wise to his trick, he needed a new trap - one with more kick
"What's the next phase?" aloud wondered he. "Hey, what about some pungi sticks - just like the VC?"

What does it mean?
In the early 60s, was it used to mark an evacuation route for when the nukes started to fly?
In the 80s, was it to mark the route for the United Nations tanks to come down from Canada and make us all speak English instead of 'Merican?
Today, does it have some Al Queda meaning?
Or was someone just bored?
What do you think?

Before I go too far down this road, let me squash any rumors by saying this is Penelope the Pumpkin. She is up at Hidden Acres in Green Bluff (look for the signs, it's easy to find). Kids can talk to Penelope and she'll talk back! I don't know why there's a fence. I bet there's a good story about that, huh?

You can see this mural from Interstate 90 right before you exit. It may cause you to think twice about exiting. Don't worry, Yahweh's "LASER" mouth has been de-activated for repairs. And because of the city's budget crisis, there is talk of replacing it with a speaker connected to a phonograph. We are looking for corporate sponsorship (hint, hint... RADIOSHACK). We've got the UP WITH PEOPLE albums. Let's get going Spokane!
