Today's Out and About - a visit with Trevor Finchamp!

It is a sad and shameful time for our nation, as we see the most basic norms of decency being violated. Every day brings new violent lawlessness from the Trump Administration. It is no secret that the most dishonorable and immoral of us celebrate this continual assault on our nation. It is also no secret that they get off on how this evil makes them feel when it causes sadness, anger or fear from decent people. Witness the ICE “agent” proclaiming“F%&king bitch,” right after he murdered Renee Good by shooting three bullets into her face, and how he has been celebrated by vile and evil Trump supporters.

We are not going to give them any fear, any anger or any sadness on today’s Out and About broadcast. There are plenty of opportunities for action against the sewage flowing out of Washington D.C. There are better outlets to find out what is happening in places where the Nazi are doing all they can to fulfill Vladimir Putin’s wishes through his puppet Donald Trump. You won’t see much video of what's happening in Minnesota right now on corporate media. For that, I recommend watching the Meidas Touch Network and Status Coup Network on YouTube. And, locally, Spokane Indivisible is the number one organization  to connect with to peacefully stand up to Trump and his lackeys, including our own dishonorable representative Michael Baumgartner.

But, today we are going to purposefully have fun on Out and About. I will be talking with Trevor Finchamp. When Trevor comes on to talk about community events happening in the area, there are usually people with him or people calling in to the show that have made folks pull their cars over, turn up the radio and say “What in the blue blazes am I listening to?!?!”  Why not recharge your moral/patriotic/anti-fascist battery with a 55-minute break from the national horrors and join the "funfusion," won’t you? When standing up for good and fighting against these fascists, we should have as much fun every opportunity we can find.

Tune into Out and About every Tuesday at 4 pm on KYRS at 88.1 and 92.3 fm. Also streaming at KYRS.org. Thanks for listening! Maeve

Today's Show - Inspiration for the new year...

Today on Out and About, I will be playing some highlights from Hour 3 of KYRS’s coverage of October’s No Kings’ Protest. This next year will be pivotal for you, as a human being, and for our nation, as its flickering beacon of democracy will either be rekindled or extinguished forever.

Join the people who stepped up to show their integrity, their honor and their courage by being vocal and creative opponents to those who threaten our freedom, our livelihoods and our basic human rights. Veterans, retirees, school children, farmers, police officers, teachers, nurses, scientists, union members, cis people, clergy, small business owners, trans people, straight people, queer people - all good people who are motivated by honor and human decency - standing together with one voice to oppose the dark, authoritarian destruction which has gripped our nation.

2026 will be a historical year. Generations to come will ask which side you were on. I hope you can hear this loud and clear in this broadcast.

Tune into Out and About every Tuesday at 4 pm on KYRS at 88.1 and 92.3 fm. Also streaming at KYRS.org. Thanks for listening! Maeve

Today on Out and About, Holiday Music Parodies with Missus Claus

Today on Out and About, I will be hanging out with my wife Sarah and we will be playing some holiday song parodies that I really like! We live under a political regime that is so over-the-top criminal, stupid, evil and narcissistic, that it is almost impossible to do anything parodical or satirical about them. But, we still have holiday music parodies. In my opinion, they are not song parodies about Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwanza, but about how we (or others) have worked hard to go in the opposite direction of what these holidays (in a religious or secular fashion) call us to live. They are parodies about our response to the holidays.

All to say, fart music is funny. I will fight for Flatulina’s Holiday Spectacular album in the most jolly and vicious manner, no matter what the season.

Yesterday's Show...

Sami Perry and Mike Bell from Spokane Indivisible were on the show yesterday. It was a lively and informative conversation revolving around Michael Baumgartner and Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill which is now a law. This law, which will line the pockets of the billionaires who Trump and Baumgartner serve, will destroy citizens’ healthcare access and will cause everyone to pay more and lose doctors and facilities that they now count on.

If you missed yesterday’s show and want to have a listen, here is a link -

This Tuesday's Out and About - Sami Perry and Mike Bell from Spokane Indivisible talking about the Republican dismantling of your healthcare.

I usually post the notice for who is going to be on the show the morning of the show, but this show is one I wanted to let you know about right now.

Everyone is familiar with the No Kings Protests. But did you know that the people who organize those protests here in Spokane have a full schedule of almost daily events to help defeat the fascism which has stolen our nation?

The organization is called Spokane Indivisible. They’ve been around since Trump’s first term, back when all that has now happened to our nation was just a hypothetical. You’ve seen their work over I-90 with some great signage and a lot of other events too. They are building up a force of tens of thousands of people in our region who will hold the criminal Trump and his lackeys accountable.

Sami Perry and Mike Bell from Spokane Indivisible will be on the show Tuesday, December 9. We are going to be talking about what our congressman - Michael Baumgartner, his fellow cult members and their leader Donald Trump are going to do to your healthcare starting next year. We live in Washington where our state government has not surrendered to Traitor Trump. It has done all it could to keep people insured, but we are soon going to be hurt bigly by this clown and his worshippers.

Mike Bell was the CPA for many rural hospitals so he knows how devastating Baumgartner's cuts are going to be. Tune in to hear their presentation on what is in store for our region and what you can do about it. That’s Tuesday, December 9 at 4 pm. Listen to KYRS - 88.1 or 92.3 fm. You can also livestream the show from KYRS.org. Thanks!

Today's Out and About - No Kings highlights and a little music!

My back has been ouchy this last week, a collateral victim of Sarah's chemotherapy, an accident which may have banned me forever from sitting by her side while she undergoes hours of these ordeals. So, I didn't book a guest in case I was too laid-up to ask questions that would have only been pain med maniacal mutterings. But, I am feeling pretty good right now. So, I am going to play some interview highlights from the KYRS live broadcast of the No Kings rally. I will intersperse these tidbits with some fun holiday music. Sort of sounds like traditional holiday fare for this show.

Tune into Out and About every Tuesday at 4 pm on KYRS at 88.1 and 92.3 fm. Also streaming at KYRS.org. Thanks for listening! Maeve
